Spica Technology expands its commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals

SILKEBORG, DENMARK | At Spica Technology, we have spent over 25 years designing and delivering control solutions that extend turbine lifetime and optimise wind performance. Our core business – retrofitting and modernising wind turbines – already supports the transition to a more sustainable and resource-efficient energy system.

Now, we are taking our responsibility a step further.

We have formally aligned our operations with two additional UN Sustainable Development Goals:

Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production

We work to reduce material use and minimise waste. Packaging materials such as cardboard and filler are reused, and our product development focuses on extending the operational life of turbine components. These efforts contribute to more circular and responsible resource management in line with Goal 12.2 and 12.5.

Goal 13: Climate action

We continuously implement climate-conscious practices to lower our operational footprint. Measures already in place include:

  • Turning off office computers after working hours

  • Installing motion sensors for water and lighting

  • Reusing all packaging materials

  • Launching an internal “Too Good To Go” initiative in 2025 to reduce food waste

In addition, we publish an annual ESG report to improve transparency and guide our climate strategy toward 2030.

By aligning how we operate with what we deliver, we aim to be a responsible and trusted partner in the energy transition.
