SILKEBORG, DENMARK | Following its recent ISO 9001:2015 certification, Spica Technology has moved from Tier 4 to Tier 2 supplier status with one of the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturers, after a customer audit in August 2026 where the certification was a requirement for being considered.

Spica supplies electrical components for wind turbines. As a Tier 4 supplier, our work was tied to a narrower part of the customer’s operations. Tier 2 status opens the door to more of the customer’s departments and to projects with a more direct role in what goes into a turbine.

What this leads to in practice remains to be seen, but it marks a shift in how the we can work with one of our largest customers going forward.

Tier 2 status gives us access to more of what our customer does. It’s recognition of the work we’ve put in, and a good starting point for what comes next.
